Imperial Hirschfanger Sash – A377

This is a very early over the shoulder brocade and hanger for an Imperial hunting or forestry Hirschfanger. The 2″ wide belt section is comprised of red velvet with a muted gold trim running down both edges. The straps are joined in a crossing pattern where a matching red velvet stirrup hanger is riveted to the rig. One of the lower rivets has pulled through the body of this hanger, but could be easily fixed. The entire unit certainly shows light age and wear over all, but is nearly 100 years old and to be expected. A rare early over the shoulder hanger variation probably worn in parades and ceremonies. $295.00

In this offering we have a troddel designed to be worn with a hunting sword during the 3rd Reich period. The strap has the original string tie around it, as the piece is absolutely new left over stock, and unissued. Both the strap and knot are constructed out of light silver bullion throughout. The bottom of the acorn has a decorative green bullion stuffing completing it, to designate hunting association. $395.00

In this offering is an early era belt and hanger designed to be used to wear and carry a hunting or forestry dagger. The black leather belt is somewhat faded with age, wear and use. The same is true for the double strap frog. The hanger portion has a small tear to one of the straps, and also in the “V” section of where they meet the holder. This rig has a cool fastening clip designed to represent an S shaped double headed snake. Overall it has some wear and age, but not bad in lieu of the fact that it is 100 years or older. $300.00

This is a nice set to complete your hunting or forestry dagger display, and not all that often seen offered at militaria venues. It consists of a thick green woven belt which is reinforced with leather ends, buckle fastener, tongue retainer, and slide teardrop hanger / clip for the edged weapon attachment. All of the components are in good condition, with just light age overall. $395.00

3rd Reich Senior Forestry Knot – A407

This is a rather elusive accoutrement for a 3rd Reich Hirschfanger. It is the portapee which is worn by senior foresters during the 3rd Reich era. Constructed out of gold bullion and trimmed with green highlights, the 17″ troddel shows light wear overall, and beautiful toning throughout. The stem, cap and acorn are all super tight, and this knot is complete with the proper bullion decorative stem slide. The end of the knot is stuffed with dark green bullion as shown. If you have the dagger, you absolutely need this knot to complete it. These are very desirable portapees, which are not that readily available in the market place. $400.00

This is a factory display from a uniform distributor, displaying a variety of Hunting / Forestry shooting award and uniform lanyards. They are all in un-issued condition, and still attached to the cardboard display. Which in itself has some tears, dog ears, age etc., and seen it’s better days. Pretty much as would be expected after 80 years since the end of the war. Penciled in above the individual accoutrement, is the control number of the style each is. Probably one of a kind display for a Hunting or Forestry collection. $295.00

When it comes to Hunting & Forestry accoutrements they are a bit difficult to find to display with your dagger. There is just not much of it out there at the shows, or even on dealer sites. This is a nice example of a rig that is complete with belt, adjusting strap, hardware, and frog. All of the leather is fairly supple with the period stitching still in place. There is some staining and extra holes in the actual belt itself, but nothing all that bad. A beautiful buckskin colored frog with custom adjuster completes this fine unit. $550.00
